filed I-485 but no I-94# number in H1 extension approval notice.

Hi,

My application for AOS was mailed out on July-12th. Just before
filing my AOS I received my h1 extension approval notice
along with the I-94 card attached to bottom of the notice.
Apparently I found that there is no I-94# in my extension
approval notice even though it is valid until Nov,2003. This is
because my employer forgot to fill it out when applying
for my extension.

I am kind of worried if this could be a problem for
my GC approval later. Becuase I have seen
couple of postings with intent to deny because
the applicant was out of status which I think
is determined by the I-94 departure card.
Do any of you know how to get this corrected
and notify INS about this?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Though it is not a problem, but you can have your i-797 rectified by filing for the correction. I had a similar problem when my name was miss-spelled in my H1-extension (about 3 years ago).

taka-digi, Do you know how to correct this error?

taka-digi,

Just to be safe I would like to have this corrected.
Do you know what is the process involved to get this corrected?

thanks,

There is a form you can either download from the INS website or get from the law offices of your attorney. The form along with a copy of the i-797 form should be filed with the INS.

If you used an attorney to get your H1 extension, they will do that for you free of cost.
