About 6 weeks ago, I returned my damaged green card to the NSC. I have called the National Customer Service Center several times, but I received conflicting information about whether nor not I will receive a receipt number for my application. Becuase of that I decided to make an InfoPass.
This morning, I did my InfoPass. It was a complete waste of my time. I was told there is no record indicated I submitted my I-90 application. And becuase I submitted to the NSC, there is nothing she can do and ask me to wait.
At first she said wait for 90 days, then 120 days, then 6 months. I told her I don't want to wait for 6 months then to find out I have to reapply again. I then asked to get a temporary stamping. She refused. She told me that I did not paid for my I-90 application so she can't give a stamping.
Becuase the meeting was not helpful. I decided to make one last call to the National Service Center. This time I spoke to a very nice officer. He told me that there is really no procedure has been in place of how to handle a returned gc application. He suggested me to send in another application to the NSC and write a letter to explain this is my second application. I decided to send in another I-90 applciation online and paid for it. At least, this time I will have a MSC receipt number.
