Hi gurus,

My lawyer filed I-140 on Jan 8, 04. So far, we only have a cancelled check showing the case number. The receipt notice never reached the lawyer's office.

Can I file I-485 with a copy of cancelled check? Anybody has experience of not receiving the I-140 receipt notice? What are the things I can do?

From what you are saying, I assume you have your I-140 case number. I remember reading somewhere that you can take a print out of the I-140 case status from the BCIS website and write your name on it and file it along with your I-485. You should also indicate that haven't received your I-140 receipt notice yet. Check with your lawyer as well.

lareds,

Not true. Please don't encourage the idea of a clique. We need volunteers yes, but that is not the intention of the forum. Such talk will only frighten away potential new comers. It is only after they see what the community is doing, understand its implications for themselves, will they be enthused about joining in.
