file GC, choose Los Angeles OR San Jose???

Hi,

I am a U.S. citizen, and I'm applying GC for my parents (they are in U.S.). I live in California, and I understand I need to file to Laguna california service center, but I wonder which Do should I choose?

I live in LA,and my parents live in San Jose, so basically we can choose either LA or SJ Do.

Anyone know which DO is faster in terms of processing this kind of case?

I would really appreciate it if you can share the timeline if you had filed either to LA or SJ. Any info is really appreciated!!!
 
It does not matter which one is faster. You need to use the one with Jurisdiction over where they reside... and really in this case, they need to send everything to the Chicago Lockbox and their interview will be in San Jose.
 
Thanks for your reply. But can't they just put my address on the files? I can say they live with me.
 
and that would be lying... Read the final disclaimer on the bottom of the forms that says "the information you provide is true, under penalty of perjury" right before you sign it... :rolleyes:
