Hello,
I have a friend in USA and would like to marry a girl in India. Can someone tell me how do we get started in terms of bringing that girl to USA so that both can settle their life here. Please tell me what is the first step. Both have met in India and spent time with each other.

What's his status in US though? Citizen or something else? For Citizen, bring to US with fiancee visa then get married in US asap in less than I think 60 days (can't remember whether it's 60 or 90).

If GC, then file I-130. But that'll take very long to get the visa (I've heard it's as long as 6 years or maybe more, which sucks). Easier to wait till he got his citizenship then follow the above recommendation..

Should my friend go to India to get married or engage with his Girl Friend or can he apply from here?
