Fiance or visitor visa to marry?

Is it required to have a fiance visa to marry a US citizen in the USA, or can it be done on a visitor visa?
Are there any benefits to the fiance visa? (e.g. maybe not having to leave the US to apply for permanent residency)

Thanks for any advice!

Fiance Visa is the visa you get when you become Fiance of USC. It is not that you need a Fiance visa to become a fiance of a USC. :D

In other words, you are better off with the fiance visa. If you can acquire it before coming to the US, its very good. However, if its not possible, you can sure go ahead with the visitor's visa. I don't think you should have any issues. Just don't tell the officer that you are entering US in order to marry a USC :)
