Hi,

I am doing CP in Mumbai. According to them my Interview will be in June 2003.

I however had a few questions.

1) My lawyer submitted all my ORIGINAL documents to the NVC. Will I get those back at the Interview?

2) Also I am under the new system and was wondering if I need to pay any FEES at the Consulate in Mumbai or were they all collected in th US to begin with?

Any help is appreciated.

You said you belong to Mumbai consulate. What is your
visa category?

Sending of original documents is not normal, UNLESS specifically
asked for , in Packet 3.

If you have already paid $ 335 to St.Louis then you need not
pay anything at the Consulate.

Find out why the originals were sent with Packet 3?

I am under EB2 RIR category.

My lawyer sent the originals because she was doing a case before me (some one from Turkey) who was required to send original documents. So she did not want to risk it and sent my originals.

Is its going to be a problem, because my case has already been sent to Mumbai.

I wonder why, they view one case as a precedent to another.

The rules as they relate to submission of documents are consulate
specific. Sending of originals may be correct with regard to the
consulate in Turkey, as it is for Canada.

However I have not read about people doing that to Mumbai.
Now that they are already out of your hands, the only thing that
you can do is to make sure they are forwarded to Mumbai
consulate.

Give the consulate a mail and try to find out whether the complete
set of originals have infact reached them.
