FBI Phone?

Greetings
Just got back from Fingerprinting appointment. It took about 20 minutes for both me and my wife. No rush at all and about 5 people were in there. All chairs were empty :-) All processing of FP was through computer.

Just parked the car on the opposite side of the pavement on Knapp street and put $1 in parking meter. $0.50 would have been sufficient actually. See ? I helped the city with 50 cents. He he. The new thing is the security scanning. Gotta go through the X-rays. Do not remember seeing it earlier in Baltimore where I got the GC processing done (via Vermont center).

Can anyone give me the FBI phone number where I can call and find the FP details? TIA

Here is my time line.

Dec 29, 2003 - N400 Mailed.
Jan 05, 2004 - Priority Date/File Date
Jan 2004 - Checks cashed, acknowledgement received, FP notice recieved etc.
Feb 11, 2004 - Fingerprinting appointment (Done)
Interview - ??
Oath - ??

Centers - (Local) Milwaukee, WI; (Processing) Lincolon, Nebraska.

Should we start preparing for the interview? Please advise.

Thanks again.

Hi WouldBeCitizen,

I searched in this forum for "FBI Phone Number" and found this thread:

The number I posted - I tried it and can't remember if it worked...the national number is there too in the thread...

Hi All,

Just found a post elsewhere indicating that there are TWO phone numbers we should call:

For Fingerprint Check Status: (304) 625-2000
* I tried calling this number tonight but the receptionist told me that this particular department closes at 6:30 P.M. I will try again tomorrow and update you all.

For Name Check Status: (202) 324-3625
* I tried calling this number and got no answer. If I can't get through tomorrow, maybe I will ask the Fingerprint Check Department above about the Name checks also...

FP checks are usually processed within 24-48 hours...the name check (during your interview process) is normally what takes longer...

Normally, they give you at least one month's advance notice for your interview date so you can start preparing at that time...

:D

More like 5 mins

I just called up the FBI to check on the status of my fingerprint check - the lady said they cleared it in 5 mins on the same day my fingerprint was taken and sent back to CIS. Clearly there's no delay here..

My husband called the FBI name check number (202 324 3625) mentioned in this thread, they directed him to another number and they said that they dont do name checks for BCIS. They asked him to call BCIS and find out who does the name check.

Hi sub123

Yeah, as I mentioned, I tried that number and go no response...

Look at this other post - try this number instead...

Calling 202-324-3000 and tell them what situation you are, They will transfer you to Name Check department which will ask your name, alien number etc and ask you send a inquiry fax so that they can take a look your name check progress.

On November 20, 2003, we visited local BCIS district office and got bellow answer: “ FBI name check was not yet done. Be patient and wait “

On November 26, 2003, we received letter and phone call from FBI DC headquarter informed us that Name Check was completed and sent back to BCIS on November 5 2003.

On Feb, 6 2004 , we received the oath letter on Feb 26, 2004

Good luck!
