In the end of October I have sent an e-mail to fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov about my name check (after talking to their customer service person who told me it takes 4 weeks for the reply), but did not get any reply yet. Could anyone who did the same enquiry tell me how long did it take for FBI to send an e-mail response???
Many thanks.

4-5 weeks

It took 4.5 weeks for me to get the reply back in Aug. You may want to factor in the Thxgiving holiday and election crap to your wait. Good luck.

Thank you Srireddy - I thought they don't bother to reply. I'll get it probably some time in January (Xmas + New Year). All best to you too!!!

I called the customer service line twice and they told me that it might take 6 to 8 weeks to get reply because of the backlog. The first time they said there were three days of server down. Anyway I bet it will take more than 8 weeks. I sent request also at the end of Oct and haven't got reply yet.

But to whom who pursuits the inquiry of name check, recently I talked to my lawyer and he told me the cases of two of his clients were delayed for very long time because of this (BCSCIS? I forgot the name of it) background check inside USCIS not FBI name check because they are waiting for the response of some kind of inquiry from interpol (international police) and have no idea when they will receive it. What a nightmare!!

Wow!!! It IS a nightmare - thank you for the update and good luck!

Also

Also guys, keep in mind that the email sent can be put in spam filter by your ISP or email provider as it contains lot of numbers and no name in the from email address. Make sure you check your spam folders during this fbi namecheck wait.

I do not think it hurts to send a polite reminder. Just to show them that you are on top of it. They will not repond unless they have a concrete answer, so it can go anywhere from: "the results were transfered to USCIS" to "your name cjeck is not complete and is assigned to an agent".

Hope it helps,

best,

I also sent a message to that email address in October. I still have not heard from them. I've also been monitoring my junk mail folder - so i'm sure that it's not caught there.

Anyway I got approved last week - so i already know that my namecheck passed. But it's very funny that my approval came before FBI replied to my email!!
