FBI name check, USCIS and Senator

Hi,

I had my interview for Green Card in April 2005. At that time, my interview went well except that the officer mentioned that some background checks have to be completed. I waited for a few months and then contacted the Senator's office. They checked with the FBI and I got a letter from the Senator's office which said that FBI does not have a name check request for my name from USCIS. What's going on here? What's my next course of action? Even if I take an Infopass appointment to USCIS, the people there will say some backgraound checks are pending. Is there any solution to this impasse?
 
Go with all your documents and make a copy of the letter that you received. Check with them your complete name, birth place and date of birth just in case.
You can check around this forum about similar cases and I think there is one that was succesful.
