FBI fingerprints -- help!

Dear friends,

I have been asked to provide the FBI background clearance for my Canadian immigration
purposes. The problem is I do not live in the US anymore, but this is obviously for the
time I used to live in the US for a period of several years. How does one get this card
and the fingerprints taken overseas?

best regards,

Ben

You can get a fingerprint card for your local police station. Submit your prints on it and send it to the FBI with an $18 cheque. They will send you the results of their findings back. You attach that to your application.

Dear Triplecitizen,

Thanks for the information. The problem is I am no longer in the US and the local police station in my country does not carry FBI fingerprint cards. The FBI does provide a downloadable card on their site:

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

Is this card useable for Canadian immigration purposes in particular? I can probably then get the local police here to take the prints on that. Thanks.

fbi clearance

Hi gurus,

I have applied for FBI clearance last week for me and my wife. How long will it take to receive the same? The reason behind this is, the CIC has asked me to respond within 90 days period.

Any help is appreciated.

thanks,
