FBI: Fingerprint Status and Name Check Status

Can anyone please explain me the diffrence between the FBI finger print status and the name check status.

Is this a same process or two differnt things?

I guess these are two different processes within the Security Clearance umbrella. Name check is to check your name against all the lists (such as terrorists etc) similar to the credit check, and the fingerprints check is to check against all the fingerprint database. I heard sometimes the fingerprints request goes to our native country for more verification.
