FBI Delays To End

Some action at last...

Looks like some feathers are indeed being ruffled because of namecheck delays. See the latest post excerpt from ILW:

Separately, Immigration Daily has learned that USCIS expects a 40% reduction in FBI name check delays by year-end. This reduction will be achieved largely through the allocation of additional resources and a more streamlined process. This information supports DHS Secretary Chertoff's earlier statement that applications that were previously ensnared in the name check delays will be cleared quickly. However, he cautioned that a small number of checks will still be delayed by investigations. "

40% reduction by year-end and then 15.5 mn to fund the backlog clearing next year. I would say a healthy lot is happening after aeons of indifference to FBI namecheck delays...At least let's not cock-a snook at these. Hope we get out of the mess soon.......
 
Disagree. From the comment, my understanding is that 40% reduction is the result of the "allocation of additional resources=15M, & [future]more streamlined process". So the year end means "Next year end". You don't believe that they can increase their performance without additional money, do you?
