FBI check

My question is, does the FBI check only checks your criminal background or does it check other things such as if you have ever worked or received certain benefits or even your credit history? Also do they check into your spouse's background?
The reason I ask this is because I have a friend who went through the immigration process, and through a friend of hers that works at ins she obtained info about her case and she was informed that they had criminal info on both her and her husband.

I guess they could do it if they want to.
The beneficiary is definitely checked by his/her FP and SSN (if any).
The petitioner could just be checked by SSN since they don't go through FP and stuff....

I think the way it works, there is some sort of standard check for both a sponsor and a beneficiary. of course beneficiary is checked much more intensevly, however I can see that if somewhere in the process a red flag raises, FBI might investigate the case deeper...

The Sponsor Submits G325-A and The FBI Can use that info to do a preliminary check on Sponsor, if there is a criminal history found (Sponor or Beneficiary) then I am sure it will effect the processing of AOS.

The USC does not do a Biometrics check so unless there is a red flag I would assume the FBI doesn't investigate too deeply the USC. However, I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of USCIS doing a thorough Background on USC in at random or maybe even in every case.

???

Wow, Karissa - I just looked at your timeline. You got your interview notice a little over 30 days from your Notice Date? What's your District Office?
