When does the FBI name check get initiated? Is it after I go and do my fingerprints? Or is MY FBI check already initiated?

name check starts when your case is filed.

Your security check could be completed the same day as it was requested from USCIS or take many years as for some people here.

I would guess your name check started this August.

It is not related to finger print checks which is usually very fast.

Thanks for the info :D So, how do I fiind out if the security check was done or not?
 
I heard that the FBI stopped replying to email inquiries. Is this correct? I just sent an email two days ago!
