Favourable comments by Bush

Copied from CNN:

"I support increasing the number of annual green cards that can lead to citizenship," Bush said. "But for the sake of justice and for the sake of border security, I'm not going to sign an immigration bill that includes amnesty."

At least some light at the end of dark tunnel::

TRC is right. Let's see some action first. Like, y'know, getting FBI to do its job.
Now i am confused is TRC calling RSM's comments cheap or PR's proposal cheap! anyways!!! it will be while when proposals, speeches and ammedments becomes law and actual help will come to our way!!

amnesty

So what's the literal v/s conveyed meaning of amnesty here. I just got reminded, during the politics words can take many meanings.

Just trying to understand the true meaning, can not take more lollypops.

"People even in his own party are worried about whether or not you can really take to the bank what he tells you," said the Colorado Republican. "So the president has not only got to actually say the right stuff, he's got to do the right stuff. We've got to see action on top of words."

- Again from CNN

Well politicians can always say one of the following magic words later.

"I was mis-quoted"
"My comments were taken out of context"
"The media misrepresented the comments"
"I deny all the charges"
"Its a conspiracy hatched by the Opposition to defame me"
"Saddam is behind this"

Lets see what bush says when the time comes and he realises what he said.

I am almost tempted ..

All this talk about amnesty and the way legal immigrants are being treated tempts me to destroy all my paper work (PP and all) and thereby become an undocumented illegal alien :). Maybe someone will take note then. The chances of getting some attention are better if you are an illegal alien. Such is the sad state of affairs.

Hi Sarsa,
It is good thread. We should fax letters to Mr Bush, President's office. As some one pointed that we should make changes in letter, remove H1B stuff.
Then personalized subject about EB retrogression and write our own story that how we are suffering. We should request/ argue that LEGAL immigration be given the pririoty.

How does it sound.

Faxing the letter on such issues is of no use. We are not the citizens of US. Remember that we do not have voting right here.
If the aliens are faxing/E-mailing support letters in mass to the congressmen that can backfire the cause.

After waiting for over 3 years and being very very cautious not to do anything, to jeoperdize my case, the meaning of "luck favors the brave" has slowly started dawning on me.
