Hello everyone,
I grew up in New York for 3 years under a L-2 visa. Parents got back in Europe with my dad refusing the green card opportunity for L-visas. Now I'm in my third year of college with two years of F-1. Next year will be my last year of F-1 and then I have one year of H1B.
I have a social security number, a tax ID number, I'm in the US army draft, now what's my fastest option to acquire the green card? Please help.

thanks yall

Jerry

Why only 1 year for H1B ? You spent 3 years on L2, therefore you should have 3 years for H1B.

You have 3 options, I guess.

1) Employment base.
rest of the world cut-off date for EB3( i guess you'll be under EB3) is 2002.
If you start GC process today, you'll get GC probably in 4 years or so.

2) Marriage to US citizen.
THis is the fastest way if it is an available option for you. You can get is within a year.

3) Applying for DV( if you are eligible).
But you should be a little careful during you are on F1 status. Applying for DV is not supposed showing immigration petition, however, some consulate officer may give you very hardtime to give you F1 stamp(If you need ).

thanks but last question

How come should I have three years of Hb-1 if I was previously L-2?
thanks for letting me know, take care and thanks for your prompt answer

The stay under H1, H4, L1 and L2 are combined together toward 6 year limit.
Since you spent 3 yrs under L2, the time left for you under either H1/H4/L1/L2 is 3 more years.
