... And another question. Quick situation recap: wife is a USC, we'll be filing I-485/I-130 soon.
I-864 requires, as supporting evidence, the sponsor's tax forms and W-2s for the past 3 years. My wife, however, has been out of college only for the past 1.5 years, and actively employed (and required to file taxes paperwork) for a bit over a year. Hence, the only year that she has tax forms available for is 2002.
Now, her income in 2002 was over the prescribed 125% of the poverty line. Her current income is, too.
Does anyone think it may be a problem that we submit only one year's worth of tax forms and W-2s? Thanks.
