Family Based Greencard

Hello,
My mother sponsored my brother for Greencard in Jan 2003 at which time she was a Permanent Resident in the US. In 2007 May she received her Citizenship and we adjusted my status as Citizenship sponsoring unmarried. In 2007 July I married in Canada. I have received paperwork from NVC that the petition is ready to process. I have filled out the DS-230 and will be mailing this shortly back to the NVC.

My mother’s Citizenship date was (May 9th, 2007) and my marriage date was (July 25, 2007).

Will this affect my chances for a Greencard?

Please advise.

Thanks.

It's VERY confusing, frankly. When did she sponsored YOU? If in 2003 then I don't understand how you can proceed. If you are married you are in 3rd category (and BTW yes, you are OK because you got married AFTER she became citizen). BUT your priority date at the moment is Jan 2001 meaning you can NOT apply for green card another couple years at least. If you'll try to proceed and won't tell you are married it'll be fraud, and the end result can be your GC will be revoked and you'll be banned from US. So I think you may want to contact CIS and inform them that you are in 3rd category, not in 1st one.
