False claim of US citizenship; would it tank N400 application for assylee?

I am an assylee about to apply for N400 application. I am false claim to be a US citizen while my asylum case was undergoing. I was fearful of going home and wanted to practice my profession from home. It was discovered by a state licensing board and a settlement was made between me and the board. The incident happened 9 years ago and I received my green card without problems. Will this tank my N400 application?
If I am to be deported, where would they send me?

Did you inform USCIS about that false claim during your green card process? If yes, and your green card was granted more than 5 years ago, they can't take away your green card now because of it, but they still can deny your naturalization.

The ironical thing is: There does not seem to be such a question on I485 about whether you ever falsely claimed to be a US citizen or not; therefore the applicant is not obligated to disclose unless USCIS can use that catch all question: have you ever committed an offense for which you were not arrested

The incident happened 2 years before I got my green card and I did not have to disclose it as there is no such question to claiming falsely to be citizen. Anyways, I got my green card without problems

There might not be an obligation to disclose it on the I-485, but there still would be protection against GC revocation if it was disclosed to USCIS before the GC was granted. Once it's 5 years after AOS approval they cannot initiate removal based on facts they already knew before the approval.

Then you will be risking deportation if you apply for citizenship. USCIS is restricted in their ability to initiate removal based on facts that were known to them before GC approval. But since you didn't disclose it, this would be new information to them, so they can use it against you.
