Anybody knows what kind of consequences is for failure to report INS the address change within 10 days? I just realized that I need to send AR-11 form to INS but I have already been the new address for 20 days. So scared since this is just a bad time for the immigrants!

Thanks.

I am sure that they have better things to worry about now than to harass you for your oversight. Do not worry, just send it in! Nothing will happen to you!

Yeah right !

I have been updating the INS with 10 AR-11\'s since I entered
SFO in Dec 2000 and moved to a house in Jan 2001. Then when
I knew that my file was at TSC and processing started in Sept
25th, 2001, I called and finally was able to talk to an IIO on
Oct 9th - Gave her the new address - but our plastics were
sent out conveniently to the old address. My wife got hers but
mine is lost somewhere in postal space.

So, that\'s the level of competence. If INS has to track someone
down, they depend on the following:

a. IRS (death or taxes, right ? So, the IRS will always know where
    the hell you are).

b. Post office (they know where one is - they also have the wonderful
forwarding system and they share their database with web based
    companies to provide info).

c. Credit Bureaus

Since they know that those systems are fine, if they have to get to you
they will use the right source.
