Dear Sir/ Madam,

Whosoever is answering this Hope that you & your Family are in Good Health !

We were issued Family Based Immigration Visa (Category: F4 1,2,&3), however due to the Global Pandemic of COVID-19 we could not fly before the Expiry of the issued Visa, in relation to that I would like to know:

1. Procedure for Renewal of the said Visa ?
2. Is there any Fee Waiver Notified for it ?

Thank for your time and support.

Regards,
Rushabh Chitalia.

You would have to contact your embassy to see if they will reissue the visas and what documentation they require from you in your request to do so. It is not automatically done. There is no fee waiver and indeed medicals will need to be redone and visa fees paid again.

Hello

Thank you so much for your prompt response.

We have been sending Emails to the Local US Consult Office, however they either do not respond or send a reply which is not applicable to our Case.

Even on call when we try to reach out they ask us to write an email.

Their standard Email response provides information about the I.R 1/2 & C.R. 1/2 Category which is NOT Applicable in our Case.

Step 3 on the process of Scheduling an Appointment at their Office provides options which are NOT Applicable in our Case & also their Email reads that the Visa should be renewed in the same fiscal year.

Could you please suggest to whom should we contact.

Thank you for your time and support !

This has to be handled by the specific embassy involved so not sure who else you can contact. Many embassies are only issuing priority visas at present (these tend to be IR/CR and student visas) so this may be why you have received a form response that appears to be inappropriate. Some embassies are also not reissuing currently banned visas, of which F4 is one, although there is a technical argument that they should be allowed to. The ban is set to expire on 31 December. The only other thing I can think of is for your petitioner to ask their congressperson to try get clarity from the embassy on what the particular hold up there is. Which country is it?

Hello,

Thank you so much for your prompt response !

The concerned Embassy is the US Embassy in Mumbai, India.

Really grateful for your guidance ! Very much appreciate it !

Wishing You & Your Family Good Health ! :)

Yes, they are only processing IR/CR immigrant visas at present (and very limited, time sensitive non immigrant visas)

The United States Embassy in New Delhi and Consulate in Mumbai remain closed for most routine immigrant visa services at this time. We have resumed processing of spouses (IR-1/CR-1) and children (IR-2/CR-2) of U.S. citizens in chronological order of how they were received. In addition, we are providing emergency visa services to spouses and children who request expedited interviews through the NVC, as well as other certain mission-critical cases, such as employment-based healthcare professionals and those at risk of aging out, as resources and local conditions allow. U.S. Embassy New Delhi continues to process IH-3 adoption visas.

In addition to our pandemic-related suspension of services, on June 22, the President signed a Proclamation extending Proclamation 10014 which suspends issuance of most categories of immigrant visas to foreign nationals through December 31, 2020. This includes cases that are currently in administrative processing. For more information on which categories are affected by the suspension, please visit our website.
