Yeah, I guess it can go either way. My then-boyfriend, now husband, was F2B, unmarried son/daughter of a green card holder (his mom). He was interviewed. That was in 2003. At the time, we thought ALL family-based I-485s (not just thru marriage) go through interviews. It was only when I started reading this forum did I find out from here that it's not standard practice. So really, I have no idea. Just sharing our own experience.
