F2B change of sponsor on application

I wanted to find out some info on changing a sponsor on a F2B application. My mother who has a green card applied for my brother under the F2B application (from the UK) back in 2000. Since then I have become a US citizen so I wanted to change the application from my mother to me to speed up the process.

Can anyone offer suggestions on how this can be done

By now your mother must be US Citizen, it is advisable that Citizen mother sponser her child than a brother. Brother sponsering brother (FB4) takes much more time than mother sponsering son . Check Visa Bulletin for PD.

Thanks for getting back to me. The issue we have is that I the sister am a citizen, however our mother is not. She remains a green card holder as she has not maintained residence in the US.

Does this mean my brother’s file will take much longer or will it be better for me to take over the file? And how is this done?
