I applied for AOS in Aug 2010. My F2A (ROW) I-130 PD is Sep 2008 and current on Aug 2010. Interview was done on Oct 19. IO mentioned that he was going to approve that day. On the same day, I got CPO status update. The next day, I got PDA update stating that AOS case is reopened and reviewed. Several days later, I received a welcome notice. The following day, I received a notice that USCIS is reopening the case and reviewing their earlier decision. I scheduled an Infopass appointment on Nov 2. I showed him the 2 notices that I received. He pulled out my file and mentioned that they are waiting for the visa number to be available.

I don’t quite understand when he said that visa number is not available. My understanding that we can apply AOS when the PD is current, which means that visa is available to adjust status. I can understand if the PD retrogress, but it is doesn’t. PD cut off for Nov 2010 is June 2010. My PD is way earlier than June 2010. Any explanation on this? Anybody has the same experience?

Thanks!

Visa dates not available

I had my interview yesterdaymy PD is Mar 2010, Vo said application is good everything is fine but we have no visa number availAble for you rolight now so he cannot give me green card , wait for visa dates.....f;(

Same here

Same here.... my wife's PD was May, 24 , 2010, submitted all the paper work I-485, etc.

Just came out of the interview, IO said everything was good, but there were no visa numbers, he also said it could be up to 18 months before one becomes available.

What??? I thought if you get called for the interview is because there's a number available!! no???

Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

April Visa Bulletin says 01APR07 for MOST F2A (Mexico is 01JUL06).

Retrogression happened late last year. As long as an I-485 was filed while it was current, EAD and advance parole (if eligible) will continue until visa is available.

ohhh, that makes sense, I did notice about the retrogression. But wasn't completely sure about parole and EAD and I was freaking out.

Thanks so much for your response Joe!!
