Hello,

I am a LPR and have applied for my wife's I-130 in Feb 2011...Got my receipt number and it was first touched on March 7..The current timelime at CSC is 5 months..

I am very optimistic about the visa bulletin that it will start moving forward quickly..

Please share your experience here.. When did you apply and how long did it take to approve I-130 actually..

Has anyone applied for spouse's tourist/student/H1B visa in the meantime?

Your concern should be with the PD to get current, I-130 approval just merely acknowledges your claim of a relationship to the beneficiary. It will be approved in due time, but you have a longggg way to go for the actual adjustment/CP processing to start when the PD becomes current.
 
@ namecheckvictim: Yes, I know the process since I got my green-card last year. I was fortunate enough to get my F1 and H1B even with my green-card file in 2005..

F2A was Aug 2010 in Dec 2010. I am very optimistic person. If in 2 months a visa bulletin can go 3 years back then it can come forward again in 2 months..It's pure luck..

Anyways, my timeline:

I-130 mailed to Chicago Lock bax: Feb 8, 2011
Chicago recieved it: Feb 9, 2011
Email/Text message and check cleared: Feb 14, 2011
NOA1- Feb 18, 2011
First touched: 7 Mar, 2011
 
I heard that it takes about a year for I-130 from filling to when the person comes into United States. Is this true?

My wife's I-130 got approved in 3 & 1/2 months at CSC and it has been forwarded to the NVC immediately. That's great relief. The normal processing time is 5 months..

Keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone whose PD is in the late 2010 and/or early 2011 started receiving the Choice of agent form and the fee bill from NVC?

Plz share yr experience here..
 
I am reading on lots of other forums that people in F2A category with PD before Dec 15, 2010 have already received the NVC documents (COA and AOS). That's a good sign..

I am just keeping my fingers crossed. Please share your experience here..

Approved : May 23, 2011 (in 3 and half months). Has been sent it to the NVC
