My brother has applied for his admission to a community college in the US to do an associate degree. He has discontinued his engineering degree in his home country for various vaild reasons and now would like to seek education in the US. What are his possibilities of getting his F1 visa? My father is sponsoring his education and funding is not a problem at all. If the student visa interviewer at the consulate asks him what he did after his high school until now, can he say that he discontinued his studies or say a different answer like he did some business or something? Will it be a problem if he says the truth? Is it easy to get an F1 visa for community colleges? Please help as soon as possible. It has been very tough for us to get an answer for our questions. Hoping this forum will help us.

F1 Visa

But will the interviewer accept his visa if he tells the truth? Will he think that he might discontinue his associate degree too and reject the visa?

It doesn't matter. Lying to a consular officer is a bad idea and can get him banned from the US for life. Tell the truth and if the consular officer has any concerns he will ask for more documentation. These people deal with visas every day and have many years experience. Don't think you can outsmart them. Just tell the truth and see what happens.
