F1 visa delay

hi,

I applied for my F1 visa at the American Embassy in New Delhi (30th June), atho the Visa Officer was quite impressed by my academic records, she said she could not issue me a visa as my application required additional administrative processsing and that the embassy will call back once it is complete..

since they refrained on committing to any timeframe, i am completely in the dark about this..!

does any1 know how much time this processing can take ???

pls. help me out
 
questions

she asked standard questions like :

what is ur GRE, TOEFL score?
How many universities did u apply in?
What do u want to do in this course?
What does ur Father do?
What is his annual income?

and she seemed ok with all the answers
