F1 to H4, Is the old SSN valid now?

Hi
I recently changed from F1 to H4 since I got married. I would like to know if my old SSN which I had while on F1 is still valid? coz on H4 I cannot work, does that mean I cannot use that SSN also? In that case should I apply for a Taxpayer identification number? (ITIN?)

Also I have another question . As I was on F1 intially I have an EAD valid till oct 2005. but I recently got H4 stamped in India and does that mean my EAD is not valid anymore???

Or can I still use that to work?
