F1 To H1B Question

Hi all,

I am a student currently on OPT for a company, I have a H1 offer from another company now my OPT expires July 1st and the H1 sponsoring company may take till March last week to get my H1 processed is it possible that i can work with my current company till i get my H1 approved. Please reply.

You should have an approved h1b before July 1st otherwise you have to stop working till you get the approval.

Until the start date mentioned on he H1B approval notice, you can work for any employer with a valid EAD based on OPT, as long as the job is within your field of study. You dont change status to H1B until the start date mentioned on the H1B approval. The approval date could of course be earlier.

Yes, you can work on OPT for your current company util the eariler of:
1) July 1, when your OPT expires
2) Approval date of your H1B sponsered by your second company.
