F1 to H1. where to be stamped?

hi all:

I am OPT right now. My employer has applied for H1 and it has been approved. For H1 stamping, is it necessary that I should get stamped only in india, or I can go to canada and get it stamped??

If I have to go to india now, do I need to take trasit visas for the contries that I am transiting through?

When can I start my GC processing? Thanks in advance.

You may be asked to go to India at the canadian consulate, because your case is a change of category. and yes you will need the transit visas.
 
Thanks raji. Is there any restriction on when I should be starting my GC processing. like I should start GC processing only after so many days of getting my H1. Pros and Cons of applying immediately??
 
Hi,
Since the green Card situation is current for India, there will be no restrictions. But it will the decision of your employer to start the filing process.
