F1 to H1 Question

I am currently on F1 visa.I have found an employer who is ready to file H1 for me.My job requires a lot of travelling so I plan to take all the courses online to complete my degree.Since I am on F1 right now, I cannot take more than one course online.
According to H1 regulations, I wont be able to start work until Oct 1,2006.The fall semester starts in Sept 2006. So that means I have to take all my courses online in fall semester since I will start work from Oct and will be travelling out of state.
My question is that does starting work is Oct means that my H1 status starts from Oct or my H1 starts from the time I get my approval.That would mean that I can take all the courses online since I am on H1 otherwise if I am on F1 until Oct 2006 and I have to take courses on Campus and wont be able to travel out of state which would mean I would lose my job.

If you got I94 attached to H1 approval, your status becomes H1 on start date. If I94 is not attached to H1 approval, your status is not switch to H1 on start date. It all depends on whether employer filed change of status.
