F1 to H1-B Transition....Travel!

Hi,
My Wife is on an F1 visa.
Here H1-B was approved starting from December 1st, 2004.

Would she be able to travel in and out of the country on an F1 visa(she has a valid stamp...) before December 1st ?

Somebody told me that it would be a problem while re-entering since she already has an H1-B petition approved and Immigration officials might not let her in...

Any comments are appreiciated.

Depends on the I-94 and I-797 dates

When you get the I-797, it will tell you the dates of validity of the approval. If she is still a student and has not started working, she can return on the F-1 visa.
If she is already in H-1 status, she has to stop by a US consulate. If not she will most likely be stopped at the POE.
