Hello everyone,

I am so glad I discovered this forum. My question is a bit off the topic but related to my H1 stamping.

Here is my situation: I joined a company in PA on June 1st this year on post-completion OPT from a school in NJ. I obtained my H1-B approval (I-797) in August till 2010. In the meantime, I graduated in October and my I-20 expired on 31st Oct. I am going to Calcutta on 21st Nov and I have Visa Interview at Consulate on the 26th Nov.

My problem: my NJ driver license expired since it was based on my I-20. Does anyone know if I can get a PA driver license by showing just the I-797 and I-94 or do I actually need the visa to be stamped.

I am kind of scared, and have reduced my driving to the minimal. Please advise if you know anything. I am sure someone has been in this situation before ...

Thanks in advance,

B.

Please start from here. If the I-797 is approved, then you will get the license at least upto that date. Also, please keep the expired NJ license. You probably need an appointment with DMV, PA.
