F1 student holding fulltime position under CPT planning to apply for OPT

Thank you for this service.

I am a student currently F1 status holder and working full time under CPT arrangement. My I20 indicates that I gave until end of August 2007 to apply for OPT. I would like your opinion on what would be the best start date to request OPT commencement. My concern is that after H1 approval, my H1status would become active in October 2008 and if I start OPT immediately after graduation, the OPT will expire in Sep 2008 hich leaves a gap of one month. What is your advice on this situation? Should I request OPT to start a month or so after graduation and not work during that time or is there any other option?
