F1 status after H1 is approved

I am a foreign student in US on F1 visa. My wife is overseas and she has already obtained an F2 visa.

Now I am in the process of applying for a job. Suppose a US company decides to hire me as an employee, and they/I apply for "status change" from F1 to H1. After the "status change" is approved:

1) Am I still considered as an F1 student anymore ? (I haven't completely finished my study at my current school)

2) Can my wife still enter the US with her F2 visa (still valid) ? In other words, when will my wife's F2 visa be invalidated ?

I read from somewhere that after someone is granted an H1 status, he can still be on his F1 visa (i.e. the F1 visa is still valid), is that correct ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Reposting the same question over and over in different areas clutters the board and makes it difficult for people to find answers.
