F1 sevis transfer

Hello,

I am Nitya Tejaswi Attili. I am from India and an upcoming masters student for Fall2024 intake. I got admitted into two universities which are Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona, USA. I have got visa approved on NAU. I would like to transfer my SEVIS ID to UOA. Upon reaching the university they have informed that the transfer process will be initiated only after entering the United States as they need i94 document. I would like to initiate the transfer process from India itself. Can you please advise on this to check if there is any other way around?.

NAU was correct. No one can do anything with your current SEVIS with NAU unless it's initiated/activated upon entry to the U.S. with a proper I-94 record. If you want to enter with UOA I-20, you must pay for a new SEVIS for UOA get their I-20. Then, you will have to set up another appointment with the US embassy to tie your UOA I-20 to the F-1 visa. Someone said that this step is optional, so that is up to you whether you want to pay again for an appointment. Then, that's it. You can fly from India to the US with. your UOA I-20 and F-1 visa (initially approved for NOA).
