Hi,
Although there are several questions regading OPT all over I have'nt found a thread, sorry if this is a repeat.
I have an unsual question regarding OPT. I am right now on F1 and have applied for OPT, (graduation in june). My OPT starts from july 1st 2007 and lasts till june 30 2008. I understand that normally we file for H1 in this time, however I am planning on going back to school (since I like it soo much!!!) for another Masters after one year of OPT. My F1 Visa expires immediately after I graduate from the current program (Aug 2007). So my question is do I have to get another F1 by going to my home country for my second Masters? Or is there any other way to covert from OPT back to F1?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

while you are on OPT, you are in F-1 status. No conversion is necessary. You'll simply get a new I-20 within 60 days of your OPT expiration.

How does your question relate to H1 visa?

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. If I were on a H1, they can change back to F1 with a processing fee of some $100.00.
Thanks again.

F1-->opt-->h1b

Hi..
I have a few qtns
1. I am presently a F1 student in Illinois. Will be done by August 07. But the course in summer is just a 1 credit hr pre-req..my core courses are done. I want to go to india for a month May 12th 07 to june 15th 07. But I need to apply for my OPT before I leave.
Will i have any problems at immigration? I have a standing job offer and a duplicate copy of the offer letter. which i can take with me. SO with an I20 stating i have one more compulsary course in summer to complete, a job offer letter copy and if i also have the receipt of applying for opt for sept 4th, am i likely to get stopped at the point of entry??
please let me know asap.
