Hi,

F1->OPT->H1

I recently got my H-1 approved and my company wants me to go on a business trip to Canada (near Montreal) for 1 week.

I am slightly worried as I have heard that visa stamping in countries other than home country (for me India) is more difficult.

The company I am working for is a small company and I might be 1st or 2nd H-1 guy for them. They just sent me a copy of the H-1 approval notice and the new I-94s to me. What else do I need to take to Canada with me? I joined them on OPT and I was a temporary employee till I got my H-1 approved. After my H-1 got approved, they gave me a new title. So the employment letter by them should just mention about my job after the H-1 was approved or the whole period.

What kind of Canadian Visa will I need? Is it simple to get and do travel agents do those?

Thanks for your time and response.

Abhishek.

You have the perfect oppurtunity to get your visa stamped from CANADA ..just grab it and bill your company for all your expenses!! Lucky you!! You dont even have to pay for your Canadian visa ..
search around for what all you will need to get your visa in the US Consulate in Montreal.

For h1 aspirants holding a US degree, stamping is a piece of cake in canada. check nvars.com, if you have more than one month to plan, you can make it. search for the canadian consulate near your city. you can also mail it to newyork and get canadian visitor visa within a week or 2.
