F1 on OPT!!! Urgent resonse required

Hi,
I am currently on my OPT which expires in Mid October. My employer has already applied for H1 in August 1st week.
Here are the questions I have:
1) If I don't get my Visa approval by October will I become out-of-status??

2) How long is it taking these days to get the approvals?

1) No, you will be in status as you/employer has filed for a change of status to H1 in a timely manner. But once your OPT expires, you cannot work until your H1 gets approved.

if u r so worried..opt for premium processing..doesnt take more than a week for F1->OPT->H1 in most of the cases..
