Hi,
I am a student in the US on F1 visa. I am not currently on OPT. I have a US masters degree. I am in school. However, I found a job and my employer would like to sponsor my H1B visa through the advanced degree quota for 2006. At this time the quota is running low. I am sending my application for H1B over to them. However we are unsure if I would make it before the cap is reached. If the cap is reached and my H1B petition gets turned down would I automatically be out of status or would just remain in F1 student visa status. Remember I am not on OPT.
