F1 international student and CA permanent resident

I'm a permanent resident and get the green card since June 2005. My girlfriend is an international student who came here at the same time as me. We are both Vietnamese. So can we get married and live here permanently, can she get the green card also? And does she need to come back to Vietnam to do any paper work? And how long would it be?
Plz let me know if anyone have experiences on this , i will appreciate that

You can sponsor her for a GC, but she is looking for a long wait. 4-6 years I am guessing. She will need to maintain legal status until then. Plus, once you two get married, everytime she goes out of the country and seeks re-entry, she will risk being sent back due to her "immigrant intent"
