F1 funding while on H1

I am planning to pursue higher education. I am on H1 and would be maintaining my full time job and joining the school full time, not planning to change to F1. Now the school is willing to pay my tution and pay me stipened.
Question:
1. Since I will be on H1, can I accept stipened and tution from the school. My understanding is while on H1, one can have paychecks only from the employer who sponsored the H1. Correct me if I am wrong.
2. What is the alternative and any suggestions welcome.

1. yes U guessed right. U need another visa to cover the stipend and tuition fee
