Im sorry for posting another new thread on this, but I will delete it as soon as I have an answer.

I just applied for my F-1 visa , current situation is that I am planning to study in the US in August. My parents have both entered the DV lottery. I was hoping my interview date would be before may 1 (draw date) but now i see there are only dates open in 20 days time. So my question is. If by some miracle, one of my parents are selected, will this be picked up at the embassy when I go for the interview? What are the complications of this? Will they deny my visa?

Or will they not say anything or bring it up at all if I do not mention it? NOTE i am a derivative applicant under my parents.

Thanks:)

Entering for DV lottery doesn't disqualifies you from getting the F-1.. As long as you or your parents haven't filled out the DS-230 application you should be good.
