Hi. I have been on F-1 visa since freshman year of high school and now I am a third year at a university in the US. The F-1 visa is valid for another 2 years. Before coming to my home country as I always do every summer or two, I got married to a US citizen, but I did not file adjustment of status and have no intentions on doing so. In a week, I will go back to the US to continue my studies, but recently I was told by others that I will be denied entry to the US because I married a US citizen. Is this true? Will this cause problems at the port of entry? Will the immigration officer know that I married a US citizen even though I did not file for adjustment of status? If yes, how can they know this? Thanks.

I dont think youll have any problem. I am under student visa and i travel to my country to get married there too. but i first married here in US and when I reenter the states, nothing happened, because your student visa is still active. would be another thing, if you already apply for the AOS and you are in the process and you leave the country, they wont let you get in.

while your student visa is active wont be any problem. make sure your intl student center at your school, sign another I20 form if its your case... if they dont make that... youll have problems to enter.
