F-1 OPT status still valid in US?

Is my F-1 OPT status still valid in USA if I am working in some other country. My date of OPT expiry is in december 2005.

I could not find an answer to this question on the forum.

if it has been more than 5 months since you left the States, you can no longer come back to finish your OPT. If it has been less than 5 months, it's up to the officer at point of entry to let you in.
