F-1 DV Selectees getting married and CP

I am a DV2009 (AF000005XX) Selectee on an F1 visa who initially opted for AOS.

I am getting married to my fiancee next month, and i am thinking of doing cp since she is abroad -and so we can both be interviewed at the same time.

Does anyone know if this is a good idea?

Is there a way to do AOS for me and CP for her?

your thoughts are highly appreciated!

Yes, you can do AOS and CP for her. KCC gives instruction how to do that in the AOS NL.

As soon as you recieved your AOS interview, you need to inform the Consulate/Embassy in the country where your wife is as soon as possible. That way they can scheduled an interview for your wife. This has to be done before the September deadline or your wife would not get the visa.

Choosing to do CP is a good idea. It will make the process faster. One interview for both you and your wife.

However, you need real proof you have genuine marriage. Not because it is CP, but because your marriage is very recent.

True, you don't want them to think that you're getting married falsely because you just got a green card. They might require proof of relationship that is more than just a marriage certificate.

Thank you for your thoughts,

I really do appreciate it.

We have alot of evidence dating back to 5yrs ago.

Emails.
Call Records.
Photos.
Cards and Love letters.

Is there anything else I should take with me if I decide to do CP with her.

My major fear was getting my GC via AOS and having her stuck in the wheel of the USCIS process( I was told i will have to file an I-824 and initiate a follow-to-join, only that I hear the process could take as long as 9months - after which the DV program would already ave been long over).

A lawyer said she might not have enough time to receive a visa if we did both cases separately.

I also thought that my number being very low might buy us more time to complete the F2J process.

I have tried to look up experiences in this but haven't been able to find one that is specific to the DV lottery program.

Hi aadepetun,...If you are a DV2009 Selectee, then how come you are still processing your FY2009 DV case in FY2011? Did the deadline for issuing DV2009 Immigrant Visas and/or AOS GCs not come and go, on September 30th 2009? Please clarify...
