F-1 and EAD

Hi, for F-1 with 485 filed for 1 year, how to determine when to use EAD in order to keep F-1?

In the case of keeping full time F-1 status, having on-campus job, I'll be fine if just having EAD but don't use it for off-campus job, right?

However, in the case of keeping full time F-1 status, having on-campus job, if I also work off-campus (full or part time) by EAD, can I still have my F-1 status or will be considered as 485-pending only?

If I485 is pending you should not maintain F1. F1 requires pure non immigrant intent and by filing I485 you have violated it. Use EAD instead of F1 to pursue studies even.

chance of switching to H1

Hi, tks for your reply. I wonder if a H1 will be good for me before getting decision on i485. I'm worring about the trouble if my i485 gets denied in the future.

What's the possibility of changing to H1 during the semester for a phd candidate? will it be better if i use EAD first and start H1 from the end of a semester? TKS in advance again.
