Extension of OPT

Dear Rajiv,

My OPT expires in Mid July 2004. My employer will be filing for my H1 on April 1st. I had the following questions:

a) Can I extend my OPT until October 1st, if I apply for an extension 90 days in advance ?

b) My employer wants me to visit Germany. While on my OPT can I visit another country and return to the US ?

c) Also, can i get my H1B stamped in Germany once I get an approval notice from INS with a start date of October 1st ?

d) What are the ways I can continue to stay in status after my OPT expires?

++++++++++No idea. Your situation can best be analyzed by your International Sudents' Office.

++++++++++++++++If you have a job, a valid F-1 visa and your I-20 endorsed for travel - sure.

+++++++++++++They may not stamp until 10 days or so ahead of start date.

d) What are the ways I can continue to stay in status after my OPT expires?

Hi,
I'm in the same boat....any suggestions regarding this..My OPt expires on June 30th and I've applied for I-20 in my school. Can i apply for H-1B this April ?
please let me know abt this as soon as possible
