Extension of F1 Visa

I did my bachelors from IIT, Chicago in 2007 and worked on my OPT till March 2008. I applied for my H1 via a consultant and in the mean time I joined Kaplan GMAT classes to remain in status as my OPT was getting over in May 2007 and H1 visa does not come until October. Kaplan issued me an I-20 for 6 months. Unfortunately, my H1 was not approved and joined DePaul University for my masters. Currently I have an I-20 issued by Depaul till 2011. My US visa expired in March 2007 and since then I have not left the country and have maintained my status. The first time I applied for the US visa was from Malta as at that time I was living in Libya and could not go to my home country (India). Now my question is that I would like to extend my visa while I am doing my masters from Canada since it will be cheaper for me to go and its nearby. Has anyone applied for extension of F1 visa from Canada and had any issues? Please share. I plan to go this summer and get it extended. I am little concerned about it as my undergrad GPA was low but I am doing excellent in my masters. Would that pose a problem in getting visa. Do the counselor, look at the undegrad GPA or no? Thanks
